We were children of the fifties
Who were forced to quickly age
Few of us had even voted
When that war was being waged
We died to fuel Mans greed and lust
For Mans pride we had to fall
It's not hard to see the truth
From our perspective on The Wall
Why is war so all important?
This evil ritual men crave
That they send away their children
Strong and gallant to the grave?
Is Mankinds bright potential
Doomed to terminate in war?
I think we deserve an answer
Is this what we all died for?
Dare we dream that man will change
And leave behind the urge to fight?
Can he learn to live in peace
Could Earths future be so bright?
Will Man choose to live this dream?
Shall no children bear wars pain?
Will peace then be our legacy?
So our deaths were not in vain?
Remember us, our children,
Not as casualties of war
Honor thus our legacy
It was peace that we died for.
